Decide whether the outing is about the wetland or the aqueduct before setting off. Bring binoculars for birdwatching and stay on the path; a flamingo sighting is never part of a guaranteed itinerary.
- Kamares Aqueduct
Go for the repeated arches and their relationship to the surrounding landscape. For a short visit, make the aqueduct the destination; for a longer outing, combine it with the marked lake trail rather than improvising a roadside walk.
Practical decisions
The tourism authority gives the trail as four kilometres. Arrange the return separately; do not interpret this as a four-kilometre round trip.
