Use Old town & seafront for the historic centre, and Larnaca layers by car to connect Kition, the lake and the tekke without forcing them into one walk.
From port settlement to a walkable city
Modern Larnaca grew around a working waterfront while archaeological sites and places of worship remained within everyday urban life. The present city does not replace ancient Kition; it sits beside it. That is why a route between Finikoudes, Saint Lazarus and Kition works best as a sequence of short stops rather than a single “old town” label.
For a deeper visit, combine the Old town & seafront route with Larnaca layers by car. Use the first for streets and harbour memory, and the second to connect the archaeological site, salt lake and tekke. Check current opening arrangements before setting out.
